ドイツの消費者物価が、11月時点で前年同月比+5.2%と大幅に上昇しています。その主因は、①1割のウェートを占めるエネルギー関連費用+22.1％（2％押し上げ）と、②昨年後半一時的に引き下げられていた付加価値税が今年元に戻されたことによるベーシス効果（1％強押し上げ）ですが、食品も+4.5％上がっていますので、市民生活を圧迫し始めています。物価安定と健全財政を非常に重視するドイツでこのような物価上昇が起こるのは大変珍しく、約30年ぶりの水準です。パッケージ旅行▲9.7％、ホテル・レストラン関連費用▲4.0％とドイツ人が平時であれば大喜びしそうな領域で大幅値下げが発生していますが、コロナで使えなければ意味がありません。私にとっては、ウィスキーやビールの家飲みが最大の消費項目ですが、幸いアルコール飲料の値上がりは+3.1％に留まっています。
コロナ2年目となった今年の自分の生活を振り返りますと、1年目に比べて、①エクササイズとワクチン接種で健康面での耐性を高められたこと、②Podcastのおかげてドイツ語と英語の聞き取り能力が高まったこと、③電子書籍での読書量が大幅に増えたこと、④YouTubeのおかげでサバイバル料理のバリエーションを増やせたこと、が大きな成果だったように思います。来年のどこかでコロナがひと段落した暁には、自分へのご褒美／REVENGE & WISE SPENDINGという口実で、最新鋭のPCやスマホを購入し、デジタリゼーションを形だけでも一歩進めてみようと思っています。

Die Verbraucherpreise in Deutschland sind im November deutlich gestiegen, um 5,2 % gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Die Hauptgründe dafür sind (1) die energiebezogenen Kosten, die 10 % des Gesamtindex ausmachen und um 22,1 % gestiegen sind (was die Inflationsrate um 2 % erhöht hat), und (2) der Basiseffekt (über 1 %) aufgrund der Wiedereinführung der Mehrwertsteuer in diesem Jahr, die in der zweiten Hälfte des vergangenen Jahres vorübergehend gesenkt worden war. In Deutschland, wo großer Wert auf Preisstabilität und solide öffentliche Finanzen gelegt wird, ist ein solcher Preisanstieg sehr selten und der erste seit etwa 30 Jahren. Pauschalreisen (-9,7 %) und Hotels und Restaurants (-4,0 %) wurden dramatisch billiger, womit die Deutschen in normalen Zeiten überglücklich wären, aber wenn sie aufgrund von Corona nicht genutzt werden können, sind sie bedeutungslos. Für mich ist das Trinken von Whiskey und Bier zu Hause der größte Konsumposten, aber glücklicherweise beträgt der Preisanstieg bei alkoholischen Getränken nur +3,1 %.
Wenn ich auf mein Leben in diesem Jahr, dem zweiten Jahr in Corona, zurückblicke, freue ich mich, sagen zu können, dass ich im Vergleich zum ersten Jahr (1) meine gesundheitliche Widerstandsfähigkeit durch Sport und Impfungen verbessert habe, (2) dank Podcasts mein Hörverständnis in Deutsch und Englisch verbessern konnte, (3) viele E-Books gelesen habe und (4) dank YouTube die Vielfalt meiner Überlebensküche erhöhen konnte. Irgendwann im nächsten Jahr, wenn Corona vorbei ist, plane ich, mir unter Ausreden, mich nach einer langen und schwierigen Zeit zu belohnen / REVENGE & WISE SPENDING, einen hochmodernen PC und ein Smartphone zu kaufen, und einen Schritt in Richtung Digitalisierung zu machen, und sei es nur in der Form.

The main reasons for this are (1) energy-related costs, which account for 10% of the total, up 22.1% (boosting inflation rate by 2%), and (2) the basis effect (over 1%) due to the restoration this year of the value-added tax, which had been temporarily lowered in the second half of last year. In Germany, where great importance on price stability and sound public finances is placed, such price increase is very rare and the first in about 30 years. Package travel (-9.7%) and hotel/restaurant related expenses (-4.0%) have been drastically reduced in areas where Germans would be overjoyed in normal times, but if they cannot be used due to Corona, they are meaningless. For me, drinking whiskey and beer at home is the biggest consumption item, but fortunately the price increase for alcoholic beverages is only +3.1%.
Looking back at my life this year, the second year in Corona, I am glad to be able to say that, compared to the first year, (1) I have improved my health resilience through exercise and vaccinations, (2) thanks to podcasts, I could improve my listening comprehension in German and English, (3) I have read a lot of e-books, and (4) thanks to YouTube, I was able to increase the variety of my survival cooking. Somewhere in the next year, when Corona is over, I plan to buy a state-of-the-art PC and smartphone under the excuse of rewarding myself after a long and difficult time / REVENGE & WISE SPENDING, and take a step forward in digitalization, even if it's only in form.
