英経済誌Economistの調査部門EIUが「世界の住みやすい都市ランキング（2022年版）」を発表しました。世界173都市を対象に、①安定性、②ヘルスケア、③文化/環境、④教育、⑤インフラという5つの切り口、計約30項目の定量/定性データに基づいて都市の住みやすさを客観的に評価したもので、グローバル企業がマーケティングや社員の処遇を決める際の参考にしています。コロナやウクライナ危機だけでなく、最近のインフレ等の影響も勘案されているのでチェックしておく価値はありそうです。
今回のランキングトップ10は以下の通りとなっていました。
１．ウィーン（オーストリア）
２．コペンハーゲン（デンマーク）
３．チューリヒ（スイス）
４．カルガリー（カナダ）
５．バンクーバー（カナダ）
６．ジュネーブ（スイス）
７．フランクフルト（ドイツ）
８．トロント（カナダ）
９．アムステルダム（オランダ）
１０（同着）．大阪（日本）、メルボルン（オーストラリア）
欧州の6都市がトップ10にランク入りしているのがまず目立ちますが、よく見ると上位7位までにドイツ、スイス、オーストリアといったドイツ語圏3か国（DACH）の4都市が並んでいます。ドイツ語ができると得かもしれません。この種のランキングの常連であるロンドン（英国）やパリ（フランス）がトップ10に入らなかったのは、いずれも生活費の上昇が理由で、ロンドンについてはBREXITも影響したようです。
まあ、個人的には今まで自分自身で住んだことのあるフライブルク、ケルン、フランクフルト（今回7位）、ハンブルク、デュッセルドルフに高評価をつけたいと思います。「住めば都」と言いますので。

Die Rangliste basiert auf einer objektiven Bewertung der Lebensqualität von 173 Städten weltweit anhand von insgesamt mehr als 30 quantitativen und qualitativen Daten aus fünf Kategorien: (1) Stabilität, (2) Gesundheitswesen, (3) Kultur und Umwelt, (4) Bildung und (5) Infrastruktur, und wird von globalen Unternehmen für Marketing- und Personalentscheidungen verwendet. Es lohnt sich, diesen Wert zu überprüfen, da er die Auswirkungen der jüngsten Inflation und anderer Faktoren sowie der Corona- und Ukraine-Krise berücksichtigt.
Die Top 10 der diesjährigen Rangliste lauten wie folgt

Zunächst fällt auf, dass sechs europäische Städte in den Top 10 zu finden sind, doch bei näherer Betrachtung zeigt sich, dass vier Städte aus den drei deutschsprachigen Ländern (DACH), Deutschland, Schweiz und Österreich, unter den ersten sieben zu finden sind. Es kann von Vorteil sein, wenn Sie über gute Deutschkenntnisse zu verfügen. London (Vereinigtes Königreich) und Paris (Frankreich), die bei dieser Art von Rankings regelmäßig vertreten sind, haben es aufgrund der steigenden Lebenshaltungskosten und im Falle Londons aufgrund der negativen Auswirkungen des BREXIT nicht in die Top 10 geschafft.
Ich persönlich würde Freiburg, Köln, Frankfurt (hier auf Platz 7), Hamburg und Düsseldorf, wo ich selbst gelebt habe, gute Noten geben. Wie das Sprichwort sagt: "Home is where you make it".

The ranking is based on an objective evaluation of the livability of 173 cities worldwide, based on a total of more than 30 quantitative and qualitative data items from five categories: (1) stability, (2) healthcare, (3) culture and environment, (4) education, and (5) infrastructure, and is used by global companies for marketing and employee compensation decisions. It is worth checking because it takes into account the impact of recent inflation and other factors as well as the Corona and Ukraine crisis.
The top 10 in this year's ranking were as follows

The first thing that stands out is that six European cities are ranked in the top 10, but a closer look reveals that four cities from three German-speaking countries (DACH), Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, are in the top seven. It may be beneficial to have a good command of German. London (UK) and Paris (France), which are regulars in this type of ranking, did not make the top 10 because of the rising cost of living, and in the case of London, due to the negative impact of BREXIT.
Well, personally, I would give high marks to Freiburg, Cologne, Frankfurt (ranked 7th, here), Hamburg, and Dusseldorf, where I have lived myself. As the saying goes, "Home is where you make it.”
